We had a few amazing events here at F&N during SXSW that we were super stoked to be apart of. The first was the label party of Other Music Recording Co on March 12th, our first official day of business. With a few Dogfish brewskies in hand, our guests watched the musical stylings of Invisible Familiars, Boogarins, and Mutual Benefit.
Then two days later we were graced with NPR's presence as bands came to us and played a small private acoustic set for NPR's Field Recordings in our lovely backyard. The best way to navigate this festival, I say. First up was Merchandise on our back deck...it felt like a serenade.
Next we were all floored by a fantastic set from the mambo big band Sergio Mendoza y la Orkestra. Definitely learned some new dance moves from these guys!!!
Then D.D Dumbo, a brand new face hailing from Australia. Watch out for this guy because I think he's about to burst onto the US scene.
Lastly, was an intimate performance by Kristian Bell of the UK psych band The Wytches. I was curious to know how they would strip down their set but Kristian really killed it solo style. Here's a photo and a link to the first Field Recording up on the NPR site!
