Some of the best ideas are developed while we're sleeping. SUKU’s debut collection, Dream Baby Dream, was first dreamt into realization while laying in the soft cloud-like textures of designer Christine Lafian's own bed. While Suicide's track Dream Baby Dream serenaded her in the background, the idea for SUKU was born.
In the same way that I believe your clothes are an extension of yourself, Christine feels that your home reflects who you are as a person. With that in mind, she has designed a collection that appeals to a variety of individual styles. A conscious decision, her range of bed linens are made from 100% rayon made from bamboo because it is sustainable and not grown with pesticides. The sheets are hypo-allergenic and far more breathable than cotton...perfect for those hot Texas nights! They are incredibly soft and silky to the touch and only get better after multiple washes. Imagine what you could dream up sleeping amidst such luxury. And to top it all off, they are each hand-dyed in gorgeous ombré perfection. Choose your adventure.....mojito green, flamingo pink, or capri blue!
Inspired by her native land, Christine also features a line of handmade runners from Indonesia, each one handpicked and intricately crafted with colorful beading adorning the edges that can be used as a multifunctional item around the home. Lay it out at the bottom of your bed or across your kitchen table and add a bit of spice to your interiors!
The mantra behind SUKU is to create a space in your home where self and environment are woven together. These are more than just decorative pieces, they symbolize a place where you can escape and dream.
