You may have noticed some of the magazines we carry at our registers but some of them may be new to you. We thought we'd share with you a little background info on these so you could get to know them a bit! Let's get familiar shall we??
Most of us are aware of the fabulous magazine, Apartamento. In fact, a lot us seek this mag out! We are thrilled to be a stockist as they have always been a favorite to flip through, read intensely, and admire from afar. Because the source can always say it better than yourself, I'll let them speak for themselves about their credo...
"For too many people, being happy at home is pretty much an abstract idea, something they can’t know or imagine, until it appears on some taste maker’s must-have list, or in a magazine, or reposted on Tumblr. A home sweet home is not curated or produced by acquiring a perfect arrangement of chairs, lamps and friends. A real living space is made from living, not decorating. A bored materialist can’t understand that a house has to become a home. It happens, not through perfection but by participation."

Dossier is more than just a magazine, Dossier is a bi-annual arts and culture journal incorporating fashion, photography, creative writing, art, music and culinary pursuits. Perhaps playing off of an alternative definition, PIN-UP magazine is basically design porn. PIN-UP captures an architectural spirit by featuring interviews with architects, designers, and artists, and presenting work as an informal work in progress – a fun assembly of ideas, stories and conversations, all paired with cutting-edge photography and artwork.
Many fashion and culture magazines compare to a watered-down version of an Old Fashioned. 032c is like taking a shot of Bulleit bourbon. Coveted by many, this magazine is a contemporary culture magazine that fiercely believes in the intelligence of its readers, and rises to the challenge of surprising them.
Day Job is is a publication for anyone who has ever had a job they've loved, a job they've hated, a life-long calling or a way to make an easy buck. In short, it's about work, a celebration of the everyday ways in which we spend our time and energy. As the inimitable Studs Terkel describes working, "It's about a search, too, for daily meaning as well as daily bread, for recognition as well as cash."
Jesse Pearson, the badass behind Apology magazine, earned his chops as editor of Vice magazine for years before he started this publication. "It’s a general interest magazine for people whose general interests aren’t general." In short, there's something for everyone here. It also looks rull purrtyy.
Women. Food. Women who dig food. Winning combo eh??? Cherry Bombe is a beautifully designed biannual magazine that celebrates both—those who grow it, make it, serve it, style it, enjoy it and everything in between. It is about sustenance and style and things that nourish the mind, the eye and, of course, the stomach. Also....the latest issue has an interview, including recipes, with Alice Waters! The best.

And just so you know, our very own Mercedez Singleton, Manager of the F&N cafe and previous manager to Marlow & Daughters, graces the cover of the latest issue! It was shot by one of our nearest and dearest, Louise Ingalls Sturges.
