This is Karen. Some people refer to her as Sharky. Some people know her from working at the San Jose, while some of you may know her as our Tuesday girl here at F&N. There are many layers to this beautiful gal so we thought we'd feature her in our latest Meet The Neighbors!
After growing up in Dublin, she moved to Berlin where she opened a collective store called Don't with a few other people. One of them being Vladimir Karaleev who has gone on to design and produce his own collection which can be seen in many stores around the world.
Fun fact: she was in a band called Boy$ that toured all over Europe, even played at the catacombs in Paris.
In 2004 she moved to NYC where she started working as a stylist. She assisted Jay Massacret at Tokion magazine and also Nicola Formichetti of Lady Gaga fame. But then she married a boy named Sam, a native Texan, and moved to Austin in 2012. Sam's pretty rad, he makes bitters and likes to DJ Italo-disco records. They also have a band together called The Coombe that formed out of creating a soundtrack to some animated shorts Karen was working on.
Ok....Back to FASHION. Las Cruxes asked her to do a collection and so she started a fashion label. It's called Hai. They're more inspired by fabric rather than conforming to seasonal deliveries. They try to make as wearable pieces as possible that are timeless and can sit next to different styles from different seasons. Look out for their new lookbook shot by the talented Jackie Lee Young!!!
