My first encounter with the lovely Miss Erica Diehl was way back when in the city of New York when she would DJ reggae and dancehall tunes. There was a good crew of lady DJs in the scene at the time that were showing the men how it was done. Queen Majesty was definitely one of them. Then years later, after moving to Austin, I learned of her delicious hot sauce and was blown away.
Erica has been making hot sauce for 10 years because of her penchant for spice and also because she was underwhelmed by the varieties being sold on the market. In line with most of our products sold in the cafe, her sauce is 100% vegan and uses organic and mostly local ingredients. There is no gluten or sugar used and the only preservatives are fresh lime juice and vinegar. Each batch is handmade weekly by the Queen herself and 2 assistants in a shared kitchen in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
She's been acknowledged by Martha Stewart as an American Made nominee and is located all around New York and in Dean & Deluca's nationwide. But we are the only stockist in Austin and in the whole south for that matter. Taste the deliciousness that makes this vendor so special and try it on your favorite foods today.
Queen Majesty's Jalapeño Tequila & Lime Hot Sauce
**Winner of Screaming Mimi's Silver Medal in the Jalapeño category from the 2nd Annual NYC Hot Sauce Expo!***
The Jalapeño hot pepper originates in Mexico and is most commonly used before it's ripe. It's juice is said to have cardiovascular benefits and help alleviate seasonal allergies.
Queen Majesty Jalapeño Tequila & Lime Hot Sauce is handmade in Red Hook Brooklyn, NY. Each batch is made from carefully selected ingredients and organic as much as possible. This has a lot of green kick from the peppers that highlight a tequila spice and refreshing lime tartness. Great on eggs, tacos, sandwiches and pretty much everything else. And don't worry, most of the alcohol from the tequila is burned off in the cooking process.
White vinegar, apple cider vinegar, lime juice, jalapeño peppers, onions, white tequila, garlic, green apple, ginger root, olive oil, salt & spices.
